The start of my journey in graphic design
In the year 2020, a desire for more creativity flared within me. Looking for ways to channel this graphic design passion, I came into possession of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, given to me by a friend. A visit to the local electronics store resulted in the purchase of a Wacom tablet, and with these tools in hand, I began a new chapter in my life – one that would eventually define my design career.
Taking courses online
I began my graphic design journey with Udemy courses, building my foundation in design principles and Adobe software. Practice clients helped me master these complex programs on my continuous learning path.
My first paying client
As the calendar turned to 2021, my quest for self-improvement led me to a meditation course in Malaga, a local opportunity to connect with others. Presenting my freshly made business cards at the yoga studio where the course was held produced unexpected fruits.
I met the meditation instructor, and our chat about her business sparked a collaboration and friendship. I eagerly embraced the rebranding challenge while being honest about my learning process.
Work Hard and Get Results
Months of hard work and effort, research and collaboration later, the rebranding project culminated – a remarkable achievement, both for the company and myself. The satisfaction of a job well done and the proud presentation on Behance testified to the transformative power of dedication and the pursuit of creative dreams.
Fast forward to 2023, my portfolio had grown with several client projects, each adding a layer of expertise and confidence. This journey, though largely self-directed, was complemented by an online master’s degree in graphic design – an undertaking that enriched my understanding of design history, colors, typography, and shapes.
Working as a graphic designer in a Canadian company
Today, I find myself in a place I once only dreamed of. The rebrand I made in 2021, my first paying client, opened the door to an unexpected opportunity. A Canadian company was looking for a graphic designer, and with a heart full of determination, I reached out. Now working with them as a freelancer, I embrace this remarkable opportunity with gratitude and a sense of accomplishment.
Conclusions, don’t leave it as a dream
The journey can be difficult, and full of mistakes, but these very little errors become crucial learning experiences. So, I encourage you – to pursue your dreams, learn, create passionately, and march forward with persistence.
